Olmsted Flower Bed
Found at the south end of the Mall, the Olmsted Flower Bed was created in 1972 to commemorate the 150th birthday of Central Park's co-designer Frederick Law Olmsted.
In a fitting tribute, the flowerbed was placed just south of Literary Walk among the magnificent stand of American elms, Olmsted’s favorite tree. Thanks to the Conservancy’s plantings of beautiful annuals and perennials, the Olmsted Flower Bed offers year-round color from tulips, pansies, phlox, azaleas, and other blooms.
