Admiring the Open Landscapes
Find serenity in the north end of the Park as you pass by wide, bucolic meadows.
When Central Park designers Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux set out to create a great public space, they wanted to bring nature into the cement City to give New Yorkers a place for reflection, relaxation, and appreciation. Enjoy a rare sight in an urban jungle—open fields and rolling green hills. Admire hundreds of species of trees, spot wildlife, and enjoy some pastoral peace.
This tour is roughly a mile and should take about 60 minutes to complete.
